N°02 Release notes

Changelog

Everything that has changed in Everfield, newest first. Updates ship continuously — you never have to install anything, and nothing in your theme changes when we release.

Fixed

The first-month discount badge only shows when it applies

The 50% off for 1st month offer is genuinely applied to your Shopify charge on monthly billing. The plan cards now show the badge only when it will actually apply — it disappears once you enter a discount code, because a code replaces the offer rather than stacking with it.

New

Upload swatch and size-chart images directly

Colour swatches and size-chart images used to need a CDN URL pasted in by hand. You can now upload the image from your computer inside the field editor and Everfield hosts it for you.

Improved

Live preview uses your real products

The preview inside the customizer used to show placeholder items called “Product 1”. It now pulls real products from your catalogue, so a product picker field looks the way a customer will actually see it.

Fixed

Hidden add-on products stay out of your storefront

The hidden products Everfield creates to charge for paid options were being published as active. They are now unlisted, so they never turn up in your catalogue, search results or sitemap.

Charging for options
Fixed

Product and collection targeting saves reliably

Picking a product or collection in the targeting settings occasionally stored the whole picker object instead of the ID, which meant the rule silently did nothing. Targeting rules now save as clean IDs every time.

New

Live chat support inside the app

Contact support now opens a live chat with our team from anywhere in the app, including inside the customizer. Your plan and store details come through with the conversation, so you do not have to repeat them.

New

Toggle field type

A single on/off switch for yes-or-no options — gift wrapping, express handling, “tick to confirm” — without spending a whole checkbox group on it.

Fixed

Phone and product picker fields render in the preview

Both types were blank in the live preview even though they worked on the storefront. They now render exactly as published, and swatch sub-settings only appear for the field types that use them.

Fixed

The upgrade button in the customizer works

Clicking through to upgrade from inside the customizer did nothing. It now opens the billing page.

New

Downgrade to Free without contacting support

Moving off a paid plan now cancels the Shopify charge properly. Your experiences keep working exactly as published — the plan gate only applies when you add new paid-feature usage, and going over the view allowance shows a banner rather than switching anything off.

Plans and billing
Improved

Paid features are enforced per plan

Conditional show/hide rules and targeting are paid features. Until now they were advertised as paid but available to everyone; the plan you are on is now what you get.

What each plan includes
New

Place options yourself with the Product Options block

Everfield normally injects your options just above the Add to cart button. Some themes lay the product page out in a way that automatic placement cannot read. There is now a Product Options theme block you drag into position yourself, and a dashboard prompt that opens the theme editor for you.

Improved

The “not live” warning understands both setups

The dashboard warning used to look only for the app embed, so merchants who had placed the block by hand were told they were not live when they were. It now checks both.

Fixed

Discount codes reach Shopify

Discount codes entered on the billing page were accepted by the app but never sent to Shopify, so the subscription was charged at full price. Codes now apply to the actual charge.

Paid options

New

Charge for an option

Give any field an add-on price and Everfield collects the money through checkout — engraving, gift wrap, rush handling, premium materials. Charges are made through a hidden, unlisted product in your catalogue, with a variant per option and price, so every order line names exactly what was bought.

Charge for an option
New

Choose how paid options appear in the cart

Fold every surcharge into the product's own cart line so the customer sees one price, or itemise each paid option on its own line. There is also an optional “+ add-ons” suffix on the merged line. Orders always list each paid option separately either way.

Paid options in the cart
New

Cart options find the checkout button on their own

Everfield ships a library of cart layouts for common themes and detects where your checkout button is, so cart options land in the right place without you writing a CSS selector. You can still enter one by hand, and cart drawers that render inside a Shadow DOM are supported.

Add options to the cart
Fixed

Quantity-priced options charge by quantity

A priced quantity field charged for one unit no matter what the customer entered, and a quantity field left at zero could still be charged. Both now bill exactly what was ordered.

Improved

Paid options attach on every theme

Add-on lines now attach whether your theme adds to cart with a normal form submit, a fetch request or an older XHR request. If a charge cannot be created, the dashboard tells you and offers a retry instead of failing silently.

New

Style templates and a device preview

A Templates tab with five ready-made styles you can apply in one click — your fields and placement are kept — plus a desktop / mobile toggle on the live preview.

Styling your options
Improved

Higher view limits on every plan

Free now includes 200 widget views a month, Basic 1,000 and Advanced 10,000. Unlimited Plus stays unlimited.

Improved

A clearer warning when your options are not live

If the app embed is off in your published theme, the dashboard now says so plainly and its button opens the theme editor with the Everfield embed already found and switched on. You just press Save.

Improved

Platform update

Everfield moved to the 2026-07 Shopify Admin API and the current Polaris design system, and adopted Shopify's expiring offline access tokens. Nothing to do on your side.

Improved

Conditional rules got smarter

Rules can now match on any rule rather than all of them, so a field can appear for several different answers. Rules also survive renaming a field, and can be driven by the selected product variant.

Conditional logic
New

The live preview actually works

The preview in the customizer is now interactive and runs the same engine as your storefront, so conditional rules and add-on prices behave exactly the way a customer will experience them before you publish.

New

Twelve more field types

Dropdowns, radio buttons, colour and image swatches, dates, quantities, checkboxes, toggles, display-only blocks and more — with per-field validation and price display.

Field types reference
New

Submissions viewer

A page that lists the custom field values captured on your recent orders, so you can check what customers are sending without opening each order.

Find answers on orders
New

Image uploads

Customers can upload a photo with their order. The file goes straight to Shopify's CDN and the permanent URL is saved on the order, so it is still there long after checkout.

Collect image uploads
New

Storefront analytics

Widget views, interactions, conversion rate and dismissal rate, filterable by date range and by experience.

First release

New

Product options on the product page and in the cart

Everfield's first release: add custom input fields to your Shopify product pages and cart. Product-page answers save as line item properties, cart answers as cart attributes — both native Shopify data that shows on the order and survives uninstalling the app.

New

Targeting and starter templates

Show a set of options only on certain products, collections or product tags, and start from a ready-made template — gift message, engraving, photo personalisation or delivery instructions — instead of a blank page.
