Who We Are

Everfield - Product Options ("Everfield", "we", "us", "our") is a Shopify app by Normalize that lets merchants add custom input fields to their storefront product and cart pages. Customer answers are saved directly to the Shopify cart and order as line item properties and cart attributes.

Information We Collect

• Store information from Shopify required to operate the app, such as shop domain and basic account details, obtained through Shopify's authenticated OAuth flow.
• Widget configuration created by the merchant (field definitions, styling, and placement settings).
• Widget analytics events such as impressions, interactions, and dismissals, used for reporting and plan usage limits.
• Merchant ratings and feedback you choose to give us in the app, such as a star rating, the reason you select, and any message you write. This is optional and only recorded when you submit it.

Customer-Submitted Field Data

Values your customers type into the fields (for example engraving text, gift messages, or uploaded images) are written directly into your Shopify cart and order as line item properties and cart attributes. This data lives in your Shopify store, not in a Normalize database. Uploaded images are sent through our secure app proxy to the Shopify Files API and stored in your Shopify Files; we do not retain copies on our own servers.

How We Use Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the app.
• To compile and publish your widgets to your storefront.
• To generate analytics and enforce plan usage limits.
• To provide support and resolve technical issues.
• To read the ratings and feedback you send us and improve the app in response.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We only share data with service providers necessary to operate the app, or when required to comply with legal obligations or enforce our terms. The categories of provider we use are:

• Hosting and database infrastructure, which stores the app data described above.
• Team messaging and alerting, which receives operational notifications and any rating or feedback you submit, so we can read and act on it.
• Email and lifecycle messaging, which we use to send app-related email and which also receives the feedback you submit, together with your shop domain and store contact email.

Data Retention

We retain configuration, analytics, and feedback data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When you uninstall the app, associated app data is removed in accordance with Shopify's app data requirements. Copies of feedback already delivered to the messaging and email providers above are held under those providers' own retention settings and are not removed by an uninstall; contact us if you would like them deleted. Because customer field values are stored on your Shopify orders, they remain with you in Shopify even after uninstall.

Merchant Responsibility

Merchants are responsible for providing required privacy notices and obtaining any necessary consent from their customers regarding the collection and use of personal data through fields created with the app.
